Sowing salad is this week's weekend task, which is much more likely to produce tasty results than next week's weekend task, sewing salad. Sorry that wasn't very punny. But seriously, sow your salad seed in rows or pots if you're tight on space, or broadcast if there's a large area you need to cover. If you manage to fend the slugs off and water well you should see results in a few weeks.
